    ABOUT

TreeKeeper is web-based tree inventory and urban forestry management software from Davey Resource Group, a division of The Davey Tree Expert Company of Kent, Ohio, which was founded in 1880. Davey calls it "the pioneer resource management software in our industry". The TreeKeeper trademark records first use in 1987, and Davey's support documentation describes the current version as TreeKeeper 8. The system manages trees and other assets with unlimited records, customisable attribute fields and custom layers such as irrigation or landscape beds. It also covers work planning, call tracking, printable work orders, reporting and ecosystem-benefit calculations. Photos and documents attach to each site, and permissions can range from city forester to subcontractor. Data can be imported or exported, including shapefiles. Davey lists integrations with 311 systems, Cartegraph, Cityworks and FORMS, and an optional TreeKeeper Canopy subscription adds annual canopy and land-cover data. TreeKeeper runs in a browser on any internet-connected device, with a mobile-friendly, location-aware interface for field updates. Davey publishes annual pricing: Tier 1 costs US$3,600 and is aimed at small cities, cemeteries, campuses and small parks; Tier 2 costs US$8,000 and is aimed at midsized cities and towns; Tier 3, for large cities, is priced on request and includes premium support. The pricing heading promises unlimited users, unlimited data and free upgrades. Users are mainly North American municipalities, parks departments, universities and cemeteries. Davey case studies cite Park Ridge, Illinois (20,706 street trees) and the Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks (78,076 trees inventoried). Demos are available on request.
